Byers Lake, Feb 11-12, 2006 Colleen and I rented Cabin 1 at Byers Lake. With the warm temps and rain it was a great weekend to be lazy in a cabin.
This cabin is a real classic. Sod roof, Burl logs. It's the real deal. The ski in was less than 1/2 mile. After setting up house we opted for a late evening ski around the lake. Skiing into a Full moon with the Kesuge Ridge as our backdrop was a memorable experience. The temperature was very warm. High 30's I'm guessing. I had to use kicker skins to get any kick at all in the crusty wet snow. Livin' the rough life! The 2" double wide foam pad we brought was worth it! Sunday we skied to Cabin #2.
No one was using it so we checked it out and read the log. A much newer cabin. Very nice. ![]() Another ski across the lake. The ice was very solid and no overflow was experienced. ![]() [Home] |
