Aialik Bay, 2004

As we entered Pedersen Lagoon a nice Black Bear swam in front of our kayaks to the other side of the river.

A rare treat of a bear standing. Lots of shutters clicked. This is one of my all time favorite bear shots.

Mr bear returned to the beach and walked next to us.

The seals seemed very skittish this year. I didn't get any close shots.

Ed and Alissa had much better luck than I did. You can view their images next year at your nearest gift shop in the calendar section.

The girls paddled through a hole in the ice. Probably not the safest thing to do but it was too fun to resist.
