Here are some photos I took of the 2004 Iditarod. The trail conditions were pretty good all winter making for ideal training and racing conditions. All of the top racers are present and the winner gets a record $69,000 and a new truck. The total purse is $720,000, a huge improvement over years past. It should be a good race. Here comes Rookie Ryan Redington, the grandson of Joe Redington. He's making his way around the Cambell Airstrip on the first day. He has a big career ahead of him. All of his brothers have completed the Iditarod. Kelly Williams of Two Rivers smiles at the start of her second Iditarod. A view of the north end of Campbell Airstrip in Anchorage. The snow was pretty deep this year in Anchorage. We recived over 6 inches of new snow just a few days before the race. There are some great views on the Tudor Track.
