Crescent Lake, Alaska

Four of us crazy fisherman type hiked to Crescent Lake for the weekend. The trail head starts near Kenai Lake.

The 6.4 mile uphill hike is well maintained trail but gets a little muddy towards the top.

The fall colors were at their peak. A very scenic hike.

Below us we could see the rapids of Crescent Creek. I wondered how far downstream the fish venture.

Avalanche paths cleared the vegetation for wonderful vistas.

My pack felt like it weighed 200 lbs. Only my strong desire to fish kept me going.
