Homer Wooden Boat Show, May 26-28, 2008
Monday morning I went out for more fishing. I didn't have much luck but it was fun rowing in calm water. A tour boat went out of it's way to check me out. The Wooden Boat Show is organized by Master Boat Builder Dave Seaman. This is his personal boat of his own design equipped with a 130hp Honda outboard. I can always recognize his boats by the beautiful sheer which he says was influenced from Peter Culler designs. I raced a "Whisp" skiff and lost by 10 ft. I thought my boat did well for having 14" more beam. I'll challenge him next year with my sail. Dave trys out my boat and said it rows well. I think I'm going to make some longer oars though. We stopped for a view of Mt Illiamna and Redoubt. My next project. The end.
