With some nice evening light we came across a small herd of Caribou. They look handsome with the fall colors. I couldn't resist more photos of mountain tops. The alpenglow light was breathtaking. I used my 300mm lens to isolate the mountain. It turned dark before we got out of the park. Suddenly Cathy slammed on the brakes. There in our headlights only 30 feet away was a huge black wolf. He was the Alpha male and was very large. We could see his partner, a grey wolf in the distance. I took this photo through the front windshield from the back seat. After he left we heard a howl so we turned off the motor and rolled down the window. After a few moments of silence we heard a lone wolf howl. It made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. We were all estatic. |
