The two Russian Orthodox churches are an icon of Kodiak. The first one was built in 1794 by Grigorii Shelekhov (1747-1795) I think. It's kind of hard to photograph with all the trees. Here is the mouth of the Buskin River near where we camped. There was a nice run of Red Salmon and a few Dollies in the river. They were hard to catch with all the fishing pressure. Next we drove to Pasagshak river. Along the way I stopped to view the farms. We fixed dinner before launching our boat in Ugak Bay. |
