Northwestern Fjord Sea Kayak
Trip
The glaciers were very active so we kept our distance. One of my favorite shots from this trip. Here I am lining my boat back up to camp. This was easily accomplished by tying a single piece of rope to the bow and stern and holding it with one hand in the middle. The angle of the kayak would keep the boat away from shore like a side planer. Using this method here I never carried my gear more than a few yards. Cathy rides the current. You can see Striation Island in the background. Rafting up with the Glacier Babes. The granite like rock was worn smooth by the glaciers in recent times. None of the trees were old enough to be mature yet.
