Shrode Lake Cabin Ski Tripp
We finally made it! It appeared the cabin was nearly buried in snow. Todd was wondering why they put the loft on the first floor. This photo also shows the mountain Todd skied the following day. He came down the left side.
We were unable to reach the front porch because of the deep snow. It was about 10-12 feet deep in front of the cabin and even deeper in other spots. We shoveled some steps and climbed down. That night the stars were as bright as I have ever seen them. I stood in awe at the majestic beauty. My attempt at a 3 hour star trail photo. I set the camera and went back to bed but the moon came up and pretty much ruined my photo. Saturday we did some touring of the area. The streams never froze creating 12 ft crevasses with some snow bridges. The trees had deep wells around them which might cause injury if you fell in. It was great fun.
